Doors

Doors and second-fix joinery

Internal doors hung and adjusted, plus the second fix that finishes a room: handles, hinges, skirting and architrave.

Internal doors hung and adjusted

I hang internal doors and sort the ones that stick, rub or won’t latch. That might be a new door going into an existing frame, or an old one that just needs the hinges and the fit adjusted so it shuts properly. You deal with me, Charlie, from the visit to the sweeping up.

The work gallery includes an oak cottage-style internal door hung in a white painted frame with a satin lever handle. That’s the sort of door hanging I mean — not a brochure of door styles.

Handles, hinges, skirting and architrave

Second fix is the finishing timber around the door and the room: lever handles, hinges, skirting and architrave. The gallery also shows white painted skirting fitted around a panelled room, if you want to see that kind of job rather than read about it.

An oak threshold between two floors is on the same page, where a timber strip meets a tiled floor. If the job is a mix of door and finishing, say so in one enquiry.

The garden door in the gallery

There’s also a timber ledged and braced door finished in red, hung in a garden doorway. I can hang a door like that. I don’t supply and fit full external door sets as a product line — tell me what you’ve got, or what you need hung, and I’ll say whether it’s a job I can do.

Often the same visit as the storage

A room that needs a door hung sometimes needs shelves or a wardrobe built in as well. That’s fitted wardrobes and shelving, including alcoves and sloped ceilings. For the smaller “while you’re here” jobs, start with joiner in Crieff. I cover homes beyond the town too — see areas I travel to.

Tell me what’s wrong with it, or what you’re fitting. A photo helps.
